Frequently asked questions

What is rapé?

Rapé (pronounced “ha-PEH”) is a finely ground snuff prepared by Indigenous peoples of the Amazon, traditionally made from tobacco and the ashes of sacred trees. It has been used in ceremony for generations and is applied with a kuripe (to yourself) or a tepi (by another person).

Why do the rapé blends say “Arriving soon”?

Traditional rapé contains tobacco, and selling tobacco products in Ireland requires a retail licence. We're doing this properly, so the blends will go on sale once that's in place. Join the waiting list on any blend and we'll e-mail you once — the moment it's available.

Do I need to be 18?

Yes. We only sell to adults aged 18 and over, and we may ask for proof of age.

How fast is delivery, and what does it cost?

We dispatch within 1–2 working days with An Post, tracked, usually arriving in 1–3 working days. Delivery is €5 per order, whatever its size. More about shipping.

Is the packaging discreet?

Yes. Parcels are plain, with nothing on the outside that shows what's inside.

How can I pay?

By card (Visa, Mastercard), Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal or Link. Payments are processed securely by Stripe — we never see or store your card details.

Can I return something?

Yes, within 14 days of delivery, as long as it's unused and sealed items are unopened. See returns.

How should I store my rapé?

Keep the tin closed, somewhere cool and dry, away from direct sunlight. Each tin is labelled with its pack date.

Is the course for beginners?

Yes. “The Art of Rapé” starts from the beginning — the traditions, how to use a kuripe and a tepi, and how to look after your blends.

Do you make health claims about your products?

No. Our products are sold for traditional and ceremonial use. We don't claim they diagnose, treat or cure anything.
